To Line for Rice

Philippines is believed to be experiencing a rice shortage. I don't know how true it is but all I know is that the Filipinos are becoming poorer and poorer. The most affordable rice now costs 36Php and the others range from 40-50 Php per kilo. This is such a burden for the Filipinos. Because of the expensive commercial rice, people opt for the NFA rice which costs 18.25 per kilo. Looking at the price difference, Filipinos would really save a lot. However, they must first wait for their turn and take a long line. Every morning as I pass by the public market, all I see are people falling in line to avail that cheap rice. I feel pity. I am grateful, not because they are suffering but because I am blessed not to do what they are doing. I don't have to fall in line just to have that cheap rice. My parents can still afford to buy those commercial rice. I am thankful and sorry. I am helpless. I am still a student. I wish I could do something to help them. But at the mean time, all I can do is pray for the betterment of the economy.
